Despite rumors of Egyptian singing star, Tamer Hosny, being a controlling husband, it's becoming clear who wears the trousers in his marriage. Wife, Basma, has reportedly put her foot down about baby names and won't listen to any of her husbands suggestions. According to reports in the Arab press, the songster suggested calling their unborn daughter, who is due in May, 'Faridah' or 'Habiba'. Both names are pretty traditional choices but Basma was having none of it and told her husband where to stick it. The starry pair are currently in the U.S. while Tamer works on work committments. © 2000 - 2013 Al Bawaba

Myriam Fares is usually strutting around in next to nothing but recently the Lebanese Star showed a rare display of modesty when she covered up for a trip to Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Mosque. Wearing a traditional black abaya that covered her entire body, Myriam was almost unrecognizable from the hot star we're used to seeing flaunting her assets in glam outfits on stage. But rather than disguise her beauty, fans have been quick to say that the covered-up look makes the pretty songstress look even more attractive. However, while everyone might be sure of Myriam's beauty, the photo has left her fans more confused than ever before about the diva's religious beliefs. © 2000 - 2013 Al Bawaba

After Lebanese singer, Nancy Ajram, was reportedly attacked during her concert in the Iraqi city of Erbil, the rumors were flying that the songstress was hating on all Iraqis as a consequence. But the Arab Idol judge hit back this week saying not only is the gossip not true but that she thinks it was designed to create problems between her and her Iraqi fans. Nancy's fans, however, have been tweeting in their droves to support their favorite star in her time of need. The plastic-fantastic songstress replied to them, tweeting: “I want to clarify that I never did and never would make such a statement saying that I hate people of any nation.” “To all that has been said that I do not like the Iraqi people I say this, it gives me great sorrow that some people would use such degrading means to say such lies in the aim of ruining my image in front of my fans, if someone wants to attack them I hope they do it through my art and the concert in held in Erbil is proof of the mutual love me and the Iraqi people have for each other, “ she added. © 2000 - 2013 Al Bawaba
